Lukashenko Addresses Situation on Belarus-Ukraine Border
Addressing a Security Council session in Minsk, Lukashenko noted that the nation is still compelled to construct guard posts and provide weapons to border personnel.
"The situation on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border has somewhat stabilized, although there are countless problems there," he remarked, highlighting ongoing challenges in the region.
He emphasized that "many issues that need to be addressed on a mobilization basis, and we need to reinforce the border abandoned by Ukraine, build guard posts, and equip border guards," underscoring the need for urgent measures.
Lukashenko further explained that "behind the border guards, we have to deploy armed forces in the second line," pointing to additional military positioning.
"Of course, this diverts not only our attention but also certain resources," he added, acknowledging the strain on national focus and assets.
